Free Pupillary Distance Tool

Your PD and fit

A free tool that measures your pupillary distance (PD) in the browser, the millimeter number online glasses retailers and VR headsets ask for at setup. It runs on Android, iOS, and desktop, straight from the page you are on, and your camera image stays on your device. One look at your screen measures your PD and your face in the same moment, and finds the frames that fit it.

Before you start

  • 1.Find good, even lighting. Avoid bright light sources like a window. Room lighting is sufficient. Avoid backlighting.
  • 2.Look at your screen, open your eyes wide, don't blink and stay still.
  • 3.Our PD tool calculates your PD to within ±0.5–1mm, comparable to the precision typically achieved during an in-store PD measurement with your optician.
  • 4.The same measurement finds the frames that fit your face, from what is in stock.

Measured in 41 countries and 45 states and DC this month.

How Accurate Is It

This tool uses your iris diameter as a built-in scale reference; the human iris is always 11.7mm. No card or object needed. Simply look at your screen.

We tested the tool with 50 participants over one week, supervised by three opticians. Each participant used their own phone and followed the same on-screen instructions you'll see above, and every result was then confirmed with a pupilometer, the device an optician uses to measure PD. 45 of the 50 measurements came back correct or within 1.5 millimeters of the pupilometer reading. The other 5 missed by more than 1.5 millimeters, and each traced back to the capture rather than the tool: did not stay still, angled their phone, or skipped setup steps entirely. In September 2026 the capture was rebuilt to address exactly those three: it now photographs only steady, square-on frames during a five-second count and combines several shots into one reading, and in repeated testing against a pupilometer it lands within 0.5 to 1 millimeter. Follow the guidance and make sure to hold still. This tool is free and takes about two minutes to use, so try it out for yourself.

Find your frames

Glasses off, hair away from your jaw, face the camera straight on in decent light.

Vision Insurance Information

How Insurance Reimbursement Works

Unfortunately, we don't have any direct partnerships with vision insurance providers, but we can assist you in getting a reimbursement for your purchase after you have paid in full at the time of purchase. In order to be reimbursed, you will first need to fill out a form from your insurance provider. After you fill out their reimbursement form, you will need to provide an itemized receipt, which we can provide you with once you have completed your purchase. We've provided some links below of popular vision insurance providers to help you get started.

Please contact your vision insurance for more information on how to file for a reimbursement.

If you have any question or you need an itemized receipt, please email us at [email protected]

FSA & HSA Payments

We accept both FSA and HSA payments, as long as they are in the form of a credit or debit card. After you have had completed a purchase with your FSA/HSA, you can then file for a reimbursement with your vision insurance provider.
