What is your return/exchange policy?

Hassle-Free Returns

  • Non-prescription eyeglasses
  • Non-prescription eyeglasses with in-house anti-glare or in-house blue light filter
  • Non-prescription sunglasses
  • Progressive prescription eyeglasses*
  • Sunglasses with custom Rx polarized sun lenses*

You have 15 days from the day you receive your glasses to start a return or exchange.

Email us at theTeam@nerdyframes.com, and we’ll arrange a refund or exchange—no questions asked.

Refunds will be credited to the original payment method.

*Please note: Refunds may take 15–20 business days to process, depending on your financial institution.


Return Policy Exclusions and Fees

Retired Frames

  • Retired frames are excluded from our return policy.

Upgrade: Crizal® Coatings

  • Returns for Crizal® coatings are subject to a 20% recycle fee based on the upgrade price.
  • Example: If the upgrade price is $125, a $25 fee will be deducted from your refund, even if a coupon or promo code was used.
  • Prescription eyeglasses with our in-house anti-glare coating or blue light filter can be returned without any additional charge.

Upgrade: Transitions®

  • Returns for Transitions® lenses are subject to a 20% recycle fee based on the upgrade price.
  • Example: If the upgrade price is $125, a $25 fee will be deducted from your refund, even if a coupon or promo code was used.

*Progressive Lenses (Varilux Progressive Lenses®)

  • Returns for Varilux Progressive Lenses® are subject to a 20% recycle fee based on the lens upgrade price.
  • We allow up to two adjustments if measurements are off.
  • Example: If the upgrade price is $225, a $45 fee will be deducted from your refund, even if a coupon or promo code was used.

*Custom Rx Polarized Sun Lenses

  • Choose your lens color carefully.
  • One exchange of frame and/or lens color is allowed.
  • Custom sunglasses lenses are subject to a 25% recycle fee if returned for a refund.
  • Example: If the lens price is $125, a $31.25 fee will be deducted from your refund, even if a coupon or promo code was used.
  • Non-prescription sunglasses can be returned without any additional charge.

Merchandise Items

  • Returns must be initiated within 7 days of receiving your order.
  • Only returns are allowed; no exchanges for merchandise items.

Vision Insurance Information

How Insurance Reimbursement Works

Unfortunately, we don't have any direct partnerships with vision insurance providers, but we can assist you in getting a reimbursement for your purchase after you have paid in full at the time of purchase. In order to be reimbursed, you will first need to fill out a form from your insurance provider. After you fill out their reimbursement form, you will need to provide an itemized receipt, which we can provide you with once you have completed your purchase. We've provided some links below of popular vision insurance providers to help you get started.

FSA & HSA Payments

We accept both FSA and HSA payments, as long as they are in the form of a credit or debit card. After you have had completed a purchase with your FSA/HSA, you can then file for a reimbursement with your vision insurance provider.
